Joseph Benintende, as most of you know born and raised in New Orleans has been influenced and guided by the arts most of his entire life. Not just a few, but many. As he states, he has been so blessed to be able to make such a grand living from one of his favorite arts, MUSIC most of his adult life. As a career Joseph worked with almost every major recording star you can name in the world and traveled around the world seeing place, he had only dreamed of in the past or as a small child. But, since 2009 when he was paralyzed in automobile accident his love for the arts has blossomed into many directions.
First he began to write and compose many pieces of music from roots to country to rock to symphonic and many of these can be found on his music web site www.BENin10D.com. Then he began to make jewelry and work with clay, he found such great pleasure in creating such beauty from such simple yet elegant materials. His Jewelry and Clay sculptings found their way to many showings and galleries in the US. But, then he stumbled upon a calling ! !
He began to design and build walking canes and with a good buddy of his, began to donate them to the local V.A. hospital where he presently lives. These are not just any walking canes. These canes are works of art, with intricate detail with carving and jewel implanting and metal inlays. On canes where he know's the future owner, he always tries to tell the story of that poersons life upon their cane and takes great pride in telling that stroy in such a majestic and beautiful way. In such a way that person is proud to sit down and explain their life to a total stranger through their cane ! Ironic since Joseph can not walk him self and has to use a wheelchair, however all of his canes are weight tested and can be used a weight bearing canes, not just for decorative walking sticks. We truly hope you enjoy looking at some of these pieces of someones history, these sticks are now, walking upon the earth somewhere telling there own story, maybe one of them passed you the other day on the street and you just did not know it, they have been passed all around the United States and abroad and Joseph prays, this is but a small ripple of positive energy and love that he has perhaps set in motion out inot thie wonderful world of ours. Joseph deeply and truly believes that each time each of us does something kind and wonderful for some one, yes even a nice warm smile, it sets forth a ripple of bright positive energy and love that travels from person to person and WHO KNOWS how far these ripples reach out. So the more riples we each put out, the much better this world of ours gets each and every day !
