BENINTENDE from Sicily to the World

How This BENINTENDE Site Came To Be

 I have been asking about and been curious about the name of our family the Benintende's, since I was a small child and the only information I could get was that my Great Grandfather Giuseppe came here from Sicily 1905 and not only did he refuse to discuss our family in the mother land , by my Grandfather  was the same way, no info ! When the internet first came together I would do search after search on the Benintende name and in the beginning, there was nothing, nothing at all, I think I was the fist name found and that was only because I did large stadium size Rock & Roll and Country Tours. Today there are countless hits on the internet about the family and name Benintende, even though most of us do not know each other. An incredible family, I can only speak for the Benintende's I actually know, but I was PROUD to be a Benintende and I was Proud to be a Sicilian and American. Now when we were small children if my father walked by as we were saying that he would let a couple of knuckles land on the back of our head and sternly informed us we were not Italain, we were Americans, which truthfully is the case. You know it can be said, a person may desire to be something they're not. Or in our case which sometimes they were not. You would have to be a Benintende to understand that one. But years later I can say I am proud to be Sicilian and my father won't agure today. I have spoken to many of you through the internet/email, the phone or some even in person. As extremelly moving and exciting as it was to meet and speak with Benintende's and learn little bits and pieces about the Benintende's and heard the same story from 3 different directions was sometimes a norm, it was still disapointing that it was going to be quite a struggle to find our side of the Benitende's geneology past my Great Grandfather in Sicily, who is the family we left behind, which ones are still in SIcily or somewhere else in the world wondering who we are and where we are in the world. But, as I soon learned, there is always more to be discovered.

PLEASE HELP US TO CONNECT ALL OF OUR BENINTENDE FAMILY'S TOGETHER AND CHART OUT IN CONCRETE WHO WAS, WHAT AND WHO DID WHAT OF THE RICH HISTORY OF THE BENINTENDE FAMILY.

Just in my searches I have found many, many artist of all forms in the BENINTENDE'S, whether through painting or Sculpting like NELLO Benintende and mucial interest such a Tomasao ( About a hundred years ago) famous for a little well known song called Tarantella, an old Italian folk song about the spider taranula, apparently as history goes, dancing was somewhat illegal or at least looked down upon, so when people where dancing and the "authorties" came by the tarantella told the story of spiders on everbody and people where not dancing, but merely telling the stories of the spiders on people, Who Knows ! !, Joe B. and Salvatore, Barry and several more, Joe B. an American (Me) has written many songs aside from his successful music career from the other side, some of these can be found on the web site www.JoeBWorld.com . Joe B. has also  grown a name for himself as a Jewelry Designer and sculptors. There is another Joe Benintende in America who writes amny popular political cartoons. Their is of course ToTo Benintende from what I can tell across the ocean is a pretty substancial graphic artist in Italy near Rome. The there is Nello who it seems like from exploring the net is also in Rome who is an artist extrodinaire and sculpture. I personally really like some of his images and trying to copyone of them right now with clay.

To sum this up I have found Benintende's who are extremely important in making our workd significant from Gas and Oil engineers, Electrical Engineers, Middle Eastern Auto giants and innovators and spokemen for new technology for auto developement and the consumption of oil in the auto mobile and last but not least community leaders, political leaders, Lawyers and all of those people I have met or spoken to, it seems they all do something extra within their community. Surely like any family we must have some that no one mentions, but yes they play their vvaluable part in how the giant liitle clogs of the Benintende Wheel turns. But I want to meet you and them.
